This study aims to analyze the role of teachers in teaching reading and writing to students with disabilities. It is a bibliographic study based on the works of Silva (2001), Gonzalez (2004), Oliveira (1997), and other authors addressing teachers’ practices and the quality of reading and writing instruction. The study seeks to analyze the performance of teachers who pursue continuing education in the educational process and to identify proposals that contribute to high-quality educational practices. Thus, we understand that the discussion presented here contributes to broadening the debate on this issue while also enabling reflection toward the development of new methods that can support efficient, meaningful, and high-quality pedagogical practices for students with disabilitiesDownloads
