Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by restricted patterns of behavior and difficulties in communication and social interaction. It has been increasing worldwide and has caught the attention of researchers and society. In Brazil, despite advances in public policies, the inclusion and retention of autistic adults in the labor market still face significant barriers. This study aims to analyze, in light of scientific literature and current legislation, the prospects for the inclusion of adults with ASD in the workforce. Overall, the results show that, although there are specific laws that guarantee rights, such as Law No. 12,764/2012 and the Brazilian Inclusion Law No. 13,146/2015, the actual implementation of these regulations is still limited by prejudice, lack of organizational preparation, and insufficient ongoing support policies. It is concluded that the inclusion of autistic adults in the workforce requires legal backing, integrated actions of awareness, training, and follow-up, in order to promote and ensure the inclusion of this audience in the job market.
