PERFORMANCE OF THE PHYSIOTHERAPIST IN URGENCY AND EMERGENCY SERVICES: A LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract

The urgent and emergency sectors are constantly sought after by the population. In order for these units to function more adequately, a multidisciplinary team is required. Since physiotherapy is fundamental, it can restructure the model of comprehensive care. With this, the present study aims to present the performance of physiotherapists in emergency care units, in urgent and emergency services. For this, a study of the literature review type was carried out. It is therefore concluded that the performance of these professionals in that sector is unique, since, as part of the multidisciplinary team, they provide the patient with comprehensive and humanized care, with regard to the prevention of clinical complications, reduction of morbidity and mortality, and can promote early care and resolution of various pathologies.
