The present research deals with the question of following Christ from the perspective of the Gospel of Luke, more precisely the pericope 9, 57-62. Initially, we present some considerations about the work studied, thus trying to reflect on the context of the author of the gospel and for whom he writes. Next, we present the central question of this work, namely the sequel, that is, what is the sequel in fact and how it is understood by the other authors of the synoptic tradition of the gospels. Finally, this question is argued from the perspective of lc 9, 57-62, thus seeking, from a bibliographical methodological base, in dialogue with the various scholars who deal with the question, to answer the following problem: In what sense does the Does the author of the gospel of Luke present the criteria for following Jesus, and what is the relevance of these criteria for living in faith today? Starting from the problem, the work aims to reflect, how the evangelist presents what we consider the conditions for following the master from three scenes presented by Lucas in the studied pericope. With this, we seek to understand how these conditions apply to the Christian life today.
